Term
Life Insurance is Specific Need Insurance.
Term
Life Insurance is rightly called pure insurance protection.
In its simplest form you can buy $250,000 (this figure is used
for illustrative purposes only) for a period of ten years for "X"
amount of dollars. If you die within those ten years, $250,000
would be paid to your named beneficiary.
The
term in Term Life Insurance is the period of time
you are insured. It can be as short as one year, or you can purchase
5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 year terms.
The
premium you pay is usually level, meaning it will not increase during
the term. Almost all policies allow you to re-apply at the end
of the term or to convert your term insurance to a Cash Value Policy.
Term
Life Insurance is designed to provide the most coverage for the lowest cost.
What
Are Your Specific Needs?
Perhaps
you want to make sure that no one has to pay off your mortgage, auto loan and credit card bills. Maybe you are a new parent who
wants to be certain money is available for your children's college expenses should you die prior to their college graduation.
Perhaps
you are a young married person and you want to make certain that your spouse has necessary financial resources should you die before
you are able to build a portfolio of assets. Would your spouse need help with child care expenses? Would it be necessary for your
spouse to further their education since they will become the sole financial support for your family?
Maybe,
on the other hand, you are older and want to make certain your spouse has financial resources other than Social Security.
It
could be that you are getting ready to retire and you have met
with the retirement counselor at your place of employment. You
have been told that you can draw a full benefit or you can reduce
your benefit by one-third or more to provide a monthly pension
payment for your spouse for a certain period of time after your
death. Would it be better for you to take the full benefit and
use part of that money to purchase a term life insurance policy
that might provide more financial benefits for your spouse?

you be interested in Term Life Insurance that returns your premiums
to you if you don't die during the term? Click here if
