Building and Personal Property Insurance Coverage
This provides protection caused by direct physical loss or damage
from a covered peril.
The term building includes fixtures, machinery, additions under
construction, etc. Business personal property refers to equipment, value of labor, stock and furniture. Personal property of others
is covered while located at the business location while under your care, custody and control.
Also included are things like debris removal, preservation of property,
fire department service charge and pollutant cleanup and removal.
Coverage extensions are available such as providing protection for newly
acquired or constructed property, personal effects and property of others up to $2,500, valuable papers and records, outdoor
property, and property that is temporarily off premise.
While the standard reimbursement is Actual Cash Value, there are
three optional coverages available:
Agreed Value allows you to stipulate the value of the insured property
and insurance it to that value.
Inflation Guard protection is agreed upon by you and the insurance company
as to how much the coverage will increase due to inflation over the policy period.
Replacement Cost, with certain exceptions, pays to replace insured property
at current value.
Other Commercial Property Insurance Coverages
Several other
property categories fall under Commercial Property such as
Builder's Risk, Condominium Association, Condominium Unit Owner,
Business Income, Extra Expense, Leasehold Interest, Mortgage
Holders Errors and Omissions, Legal Liability, Glass Coverage
and Tobacco Sales Warehouse.
