Commercial Auto Insurance is available in three forms:
Business Auto Insurance Coverage
Business Auto Coverage insures private passenger and commercial autos
for any business except garages, trucking firms, auto dealerships and implement dealers.
Primary coverages are very similar to personal auto insurance: legal
liability, defense costs, supplementary payments. It provides coverage for any risk except those that are excluded. Persons
who become liable for the conduct of the insured are also covered.
Physical damage coverage is somewhat different from a personal auto
policy. Comprehensive coverage is available. There can also be Specified Causes of Loss which covers only specified
perils. Collision coverage is available. Loss Payment provides the insurance company with the choice to repair, replace or pay
for the damaged auto.
Medical Payments and Uninsured Motorists coverage can be added to your
policy.
Garage Coverage
Garage Coverage is available to car dealerships, mobile home dealers,
implement dealers, gas stations and garages.
Basic Garage Coverage policies include liability coverage, garagekeepers
insurance and physical damage.
Trucker's Coverage
Trucker's Coverage is available to those businesses that hire themselves
out to haul the goods of others. The Motor Carrier Act of 1980 requires truckers to certify they can meet financial
obligations should they become liable for damages due to their trucking operation.
Liability, physical damage and trailer interchange insurance are covered.
